I’ve gone from a typical Manhattanite who never cooked (I always like to say my fridge contained just cheese and gin) to a full-fledged chef (who only once has had to throw out a failed dinner to order pizza instead over the past few years). My husband and I renovated our Brooklyn kitchen ourselves, gutted the bathroom, added crown molding, among other weekend and beyond projects — and getting a 10% off coupon from Home Depot in the mail excites me. I love to sew, and once took a class at FIT to learn how to make darts and that Versace gown circa 2003 that I was obsessed with but couldn’t afford on a college budget. Full disclosure: I was home ec student of the year in seventh grade. When not involved in home improvement projects, I’m an editor-writer-reporter who has contributed to The New York Post, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, the Chicago Tribune, Us Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard.
